Medical Director

Dr Spencer  has a long history of involvement with Mental Health/Psychiatric services. He has completed international qualifications and recently participated as a medical service provider in Europe. Dr Spencer is currently a valued employee of a high profile, not for profit Mental Health Service where he specialises in the treatment of trauma and addictive behaviours. This role has a heavy managerial component with Dr Spencer providing specialist opinion regarding service delivery and expansion.

Dr Spencer's role at Wattleseed Healing Centre involves specialist consultation regarding medical matters, as well as presentation of Professional Development activities.  Further to this he is involved in directing and maintaining quality service delivery. Dr Spencer will often be your first point of contact when contacting the service. Emma Spencer (nee Hamilton) BPsych (Hons) MPsych (Clinical) MAPS

Managing Director

Emma Spencer is a Clinical Psychologist who has specialised in the treatment of children & adolescents as well as adult over the range of clinical disorders.  Her experience has extended through private and public in-patient services, community outreach services and private practise.  She is trained in several treatment modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Art and Play Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and Psychoanalytical approaches.  Emma has extensive experience in individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, educational and psychometric assessment and clinical supervision.  She has been involved in program development and recently completed the group therapy manual for a Private Psychiatric Facility group program.

Emma is also board accredited supervisor and provides supervision to psychology interns completing their 2 years registration training program.

Emma's role at Wattleseed Health Centre includes involvement in clinical supervision and delivery of inservice and workshop packages.  Further she supervises the "Wattleseed Community Outreach Program" - PALS. Much of the day to day smooth running of the service falls on Emma's highly competent managerial and organisational skills and she is involved in promoting and developing the service.
